Veniamin Kondratyev to Vladimir Putin: Krasnodar Region ranks third in Russia for industrial development

He emphasized that the industrial sector in Kuban is experiencing a resurgence.

Over the past ten years, this agrarian and resort region has emerged as an industrial leader in southern Russia. Since the initiation of an industrial development program in 2016, annual funding has surged from 14 million to 3.7 billion rubles, and the establishment of a regional Industry Development Fund with an initial allocation of 500 million rubles in 2018, supported by the President of Russia, has further bolstered this growth.

«Today, the Industry Development Fund has grown to 10 billion rubles. We have utilized these funds to initiate modernization efforts, and I am pleased to report that, according to last year’s results, we secured third place in Russia for industrial development. The volume of industrial products has increased by 2.5 times over the past decade, reaching 620 billion rubles at the end of last year. This is a significant achievement for us,» Kondratyev remarked.

Thanks to a comprehensive array of regional support measures, Kuban has revitalized its machine-tool and automotive manufacturing sectors, strengthened its machinery industry, and is now venturing into new domains such as radio electronics, pharmaceuticals, and medical industries.

The flagship of machine tool manufacturing is the Southern Heavy Machine Tool Building Plant, the successor to the legendary G.M. Sedin plant. Over the past year, the Southern Heavy Machine-Tool Plant has expanded its production area from 16,000 to 90,000 square meters. Production volumes are also increasing: from 2021 to 2025, based on current plans, they are expected to rise 14 times. In the future, YuZTS plans to open a new modern foundry.
